 Statewide Drought Program

Monitoring Technical Committee

The Drought Task Force Monitoring Technical Committee produces monthly drought monitor reports to provide an assessment of drought conditions in Arizona. The drought status maps are based on precipitation and streamflow data and don't reflect a declared drought stage.

Local Area Impact Assessment Groups

Local Area Impact Assessment Groups (LAIAG) are county-level groups created voluntarily to coordinate drought public awareness, provide impact assessment information to local and state leaders, and implement and initiate local mitigation or response options. These groups are coordinated by local representatives of Arizona Cooperative Extension and County Emergency Management and supported by ADWR's Statewide Drought Program.
